Claudia Mann and Liza Jensen
About Claudia and Liza
Claudia Mann has been enchanted with Montessori education since 1976. Certified Elementary I, II, and Secondary I, she guided children and adults in classrooms and schools to be passionate learners, sustaining Cosmic Education as the heart of the Montessori vision. After more than 25 years in the classroom, Ms. Mann founded the Chaffee County Montessori School in Salida, CO.
Ms. Mann currently coaches teachers and school leaders, both onsite and online, through www.fossilicious.com and www.inspired-learning-Montessori-education.com. For Claudia, the VERY best part of teaching at Chaffee County Montessori School was working alongside her daughter, Liza Jensen.
Liza Jensen attended Western State College where she graduated with a degree in Communications. She came to Chaffee County Montessori School first as a volunteer; then as an assistant. She attended the Montessori Institute Northwest in Portland and studied with Ginny Sackett. After completing her certification in Primary she became our lead teacher, a position she held for three years before returning to Portland full time. She left Montessori teaching in 2016 and became involved with Phame, an arts and theater program for individuals with developmental disabilities. Liza works as a mentor and coach, along with pursuing her passions of theater performance and vocal music.
The mother and daughter duo are thrilled to be able to share their experiences of growing up in Montessori as parent and teacher and child with both a physical disability and neurodiversity.
